Bio

Julia Pribyl Ham grew up near Denver, CO and attended the University of South Carolina where she earned a B.Sc. in Chemistry and discovered a love for research in the lab of Prof. Sheryl Wiskur. She joined the Benicewicz group at USC for her graduate studies and earned a Ph.D. in organic/polymer chemistry in 2018. She then moved to Gainesville, FL to work with Prof. Ken Wagener as a postdoctoral associate in the Butler Polymer Research Laboratory at the University of Florida. Throughout her training, Dr. Ham greatly enjoyed synthetic polymer research, teaching, and working with undergraduate researchers. She was thrilled to accept a position at the United States Naval Academy as an Assistant Professor of Chemistry in 2020. When she isn't teaching or in the lab, Dr. Ham enjoys taking her two dogs on long walks and spending time with her family.
