About Me
I am an Assistant Professor in the Mathematics Department at the United States Naval Academy. I obtained my Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh in Industrial Engineering, my M.S. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in Statistics and Operations Research, and my B.S. from Carnegie Mellon University in Mathematical Sciences.
I have spent the last several years developing the simulation modeling course at USNA and recently won the Apgar Award for Excellence in Teaching and the INFORMS Junior Faculty Interest Group Teaching Excellence Award. My research focuses on applying optimization and simulation to real world problems. Recent projects have spanned several areas including healthcare, disaster recovery, and undersea warfare.
Outside of work, I enjoy hiking and spending time with my pup, Layla.
