Practicum Description: Increasing access to study abroad opportunities to all student populations on campus is a goal for many education abroad offices nationwide. We hope to create new resources to support students of diverse identity-groups, and find different ways to connect or engage students with this material. We believe in the transformative power of study abroad and encourage students to experience different cultures, viewpoints, and ways of living, as this will ultimately contribute to better cross-cultural understanding and self-awareness in our interconnected world.

Work plan:
Students will complete 100 hours remotely and in person with the Center for Global Education during the Spring 2022 semester. A student will work in person with our office staff to devise a plan and collaboratively work on DEI initiatives and goals for our office. Our office has recently created a new diversity statement that we would like to uphold. One main responsibility of our HESA student would be to revise and find resources to back this statement up as we will eventually place it on our website. Students may attend an in person weekly meeting with our office for 1 hour per week. If necessary, other virtual meetings could take place with the lead staff member. Work can be done remotely after projects have been set in place. Additional work for the student to complete includes: collecting resources and content for our website, and content for workshops that focus on different identity topics or mental health related resources while abroad. These workshops should be recorded and have the potential to work alongside different chief diversity officers and managers with our partner programs and institutions. Most importantly, we would like our practicum student to be innovative and find different ways to connect or engage students with this material.

Practicum Description: USF's cultural and identity-based graduation ceremonies, known as the End of the Year Ceremonies (EYCs), are seeking a practicum student to co-lead the Lavender Commencement committee. Lavender Commencement honors graduating Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer students, including those who identify across the gender and sexuality spectrums (LGBTQIA+), through celebration, certificates, and keepsakes. The practicum student would gain experience in planning and facilitation of meetings, outreach and communications, budgeting, and event planning. Additionally the student will have the opportunity to participate with professional staff and graduate students to ensure the coordination and connection of all of the spring 2022 EYCs meetings.

Practicum Description: This practicum opportunity is intended to support the Learning Center's core function of providing Academic Skills Development initiatives for all enrolled students (undergraduate and graduate). This practicum will provide HESA students with a hands-on experience of applying Student Development Theory and process-based learning approaches during student interactions.

This practicum student will gain exposure to the administrative side of the student-coach matching process as well as the management of the student-coach relationship in a peer mentorship program called "Project Success" (a long-standing partnership with the Center for Academic & Student Achievement and Student Disability Services at USF). The practicum student will gain experience in assessing and evaluating the development of students through the analysis of pre-, mid-, and/or post-participation surveys.

Practicum Description: Practicum students will gain experience in public health programming by focusing on creating a national nutrition month campaign in March for USF students that also focuses on the promotion of physical activity guidelines. This student will have the opportunity to research, plan, and implement this monthly nutrition and exercise campaign to engage USF students in eating healthier and exercising well, all while raising awareness of HPS resources. They will be learning how to create graphic/video content for social media and YouTube, and learn how to utilize Slack to create an online community dedicated to promoting physical wellbeing.

1. Practicum students will assist with or lead efforts to promote a digital nutrition campaign that focuses on physical activity in March for all USF students.

3. They will have to learn about HPS programs and services around nutrition and exercise, such as what workshops we offer, our 1:1 process, and our collaboration efforts for Exercise is Medicine On Campus initiative.
4. They will research, plan, and develop this campaign by building on past and existing programs in HPS or from other institutions that focus on nutrition and exercise promotion.
5. Part of the work plan will ideally include content creation with nutrition videos and graphics for social media and youtube and developing communication strategies using Slack.
6. Once a program is developed for the monthly campaign in March, students will have to work on developing marketing strategies to promote the campaign on campus.

Scheduling Needs: Yes, creating content and plan can be done during "off" hours. However, meetings with supervisor will have to be done during normal working hours. Preferred skills would be a student who knows how to design content and create videos, even if it's on a basic level. A student who has strong interpersonal, writing, and communication skills. Practicum Description: The ASPIRE (Asian/Pacific Islander Resources for Excellence) Program at Evergreen Valley College is designed to increase the academic and personal success of Asian/Pacific Islander students through scholarships, tutoring, counseling, and mentoring with dedicated faculty and staff. Assist with developing social media campaigns that engages students with themes and content related to programs and learning outcomes.
Gain the opportunity to help support community engagement students who are completing service projects in the Center for Women & Gender Equity. This support may involve supporting students in their developmental journeys with such things as goal setting and reflection on progress.
Scheduling Needs: There are tasks that vary in hours and times.

Practicum Description: This practicum will examine how Undergraduate and Master's students are best served by building a Career Education framework with career theory(ies) that help students navigate career concerns, build "social capital" (access resources, and connection to people) and develop and maintain their career aspirations.

Learn how to apply theories to an impactful framework that created data based decision making for career services for undergraduate and master's students

Work plan: This practicum requires research, developing a data-informed framework, visual creation and representation of a career theories informed framework that helps develop how career coaches engage with the most recent research-based applications of career theories. The supervisor for this practicum is completing her doctorate and focuses on DEI and frameworks that support marginalized and underrepresented groups and is interested in applying a similar framework to undergraduate and graduate students at Stanford University.
Scheduling Needs: This practicum is remote (or in office if the student would like to work in the office) and can be completed off-hours provided hours and deliverables are agreed upon for the student and their supervisor is very flexible with the needs of the students' availability.
Required/Preferred Skills: Familiarity with Microsoft office suite, Adobe design suites (helpful) data analysis (helpful) comfortable with design projects and learning career-related theories.
