WHAT IS YEARBOOK?
Yearbook is an 8th grade course that meets every day for the entire academic year. Responsibilities include covering events (taking photos), interviewing students and staff, learning to use Adobe Photoshop and InDesign, writing copy and captions, designing layouts, assisting with the marketing and sale of yearbooks, and spending lots of time with energetic and creative people. It is a fun but very demanding class.
WHAT MAKES A GOOD YEARBOOK STAFF MEMBER?
Consistent and reliable performance at school
Strong writing and/or visual design/photography skills
Commitment to the yearbook
Ability to work well with others
YEARBOOK APPLICATION PROCESS
After indicating your interest to join Yearbook on your 8th Grade Course Request Form, you will receive a Google Form through email in the following weeks. On this form, you will need to provide grades, a list of your extracurriuclar activities 2 teacher/staff recommendations, and a writing sample.
DISCLAIMER
Depending when yearbook is offered students may need to choose between yearbook and another yearlong course. Some courses are only offered one section and one period.
