The first half day of school each school year will be just for 6th graders and 7th/8th graders new to West. This will allow students the opportunity to be in the building with a smaller group of students and allow staff and Student Council members to help them learn the ins and outs of West. This day will help ensure incoming students feel more comfortable on their first full day.
West runs an 8-period school day all 5 days of the week. Wednesday class periods are shorter to accommodate early release. Students are released early every Wednesday for the entirety of the school year.
Schedules will not be completed until Warhawk Warmup. This event is typically scheduled the Monday before school starts. Schedules are subject to change before this date. If you have concerns about your classes, you can reach out to your counselor to request a change. WIN class will change throughout the school year, depending on student needs and what the focus is during that WIN rotation.
Lunch is 25 minutes long and students are assigned to designated lunches by grade level. Seating in the cafeteria is free choice unless otherwise stated.
