What is a credit?
A credit is a unit used to track progress toward graduation. Students earn 0.5 credits for each class they successfully complete per semester. Successfully completing a year-long course earns 1 full credit.
Students will complete two or more postsecondary assets from either of two categories, aligned with their Individual Plan of Study.
Examples of a Post-Secondary Asset include:
ACT composite (Score of 21 or higher)
WorkKeys level (Silver or higher)
9+ college hours
State Assessment scores of 3 or 4 in math, ELA, science
Senior project/senior exit interviews
ASVAB per the requirements of the military branch selected
SAT score (1060 or higher)
Completing the Board of Regents curriculum
International Baccalaureate Exam (4+)
Advanced Placement Exam (3+)
95% attendance in high school
Youth Apprenticeships
40 or more community service hours
Client-centered projects
Workplace learning directly related to IPS
Industry recognized certifications
Seal of Biliteracy
CTE Scholar
Eagle Scout or Gold Scout
Two or more high school athletics/activities
JROTC
State-level Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) Officer

If you would like to enroll in AVID, you must first complete an application. The application can be found below. If you choose to apply, please go ahead and select AVID as one of your electives for the 26-27 school year.

Algebra 1 in Manufacturing Processes, Entrepreneurship, and Design (AMPED) will teach students all Kansas Algebra 1 standards through relevant, interactive, and fun career and technical education projects. Students will learn Algebra concepts through running a “for-profit” t-shirt and printing business and from many other hands-on and real-world activities. The development of 21st-century workplace skills such as attention to detail, critical thinking, communication, and teamwork are also emphasized. Students must also take Production Methods concurrently.
Whate are CTE/Career Pathway Classes
Students are encouraged to explore different career options and experiences by enrolling in introductory courses within one or more of our career pathways. If a student enjoys a course, they may continue taking additional classes in that pathway throughout their four years at LHS.

NCAA Requirements
If you are planning on playing sports in college, please let your school counselor let your school counselor know. There are specific courses you must complete while in high school to meet eligibility requirements. Student-athletes must also register with the NCAA Eligibility Center take while you are in high school. Student-athletes need to register at the NCAA Eligibility Center.
