Melissa Lambotte is the Director of Bands at Washburn Rural Middle School as well as an Assistant Director of Bands - Low Brass at Washburn Rural High School. Before coming to the middle school in 2021, Mrs. Lambotte spent 4 years at WRHS as an assistant band director and a year in the North Jackson School District doing all things music.
Mrs. Lambotte graduated from Seaman High School in 2011 and received her Bachelor of Music Education degree from Kansas State University in 2016. While attending KSU, Mrs. Lambotte was involved with The Pride of Wildcat Land, Cat Band, Concert Band, Wind Symphony, Concert Jazz Ensemble, Trombone Choir, Women's Choir, Pit Orchestra, Kansas State University Orchestra, and participated and conducted in the University Band. Mrs. Lambotte finished her career at KSU with student teaching under Mr. Luke Chaffee at Washburn Rural High School. Mrs. Lambotte completed her Masters of Social and Cultural Studies in Education from the University of Kansas in 2021 and hopes to one day finish out her education with an EdD.
At WRMS, Mrs. Lambotte teaches 7th grade and 8th grade band. At WRHS, Mrs. Lambotte assists with the Marching Jr. Blues and conducts the Pit Orchestra for the spring musical. Mrs. Lambotte is a member of the Kansas Music Educators Association, the National Association of Music Education, and the National Educators Association.
Mrs. Lambotte resides outside of Dover with her husband Tomas (choir director at WRMS), sons Beau (8), Caulder (2), Abel (1) and Australian Shepherd Diesel.
