Special Education Services- Park Elementary is a member of the Barton County Special Services Cooperative. Direct services are provided through the Cooperative in the areas of gifted, learning disabilities, behavior disorders, speech/language, and other programs. If you feel your child has special learning needs that are not being met in the regular classroom, please contact the building principal to discuss these issues.
Instructional Coach- ELA/Math
Orchestra- In 6th grade students are able to join orchestra. The instruments in the orchestra are violin, viola, cello, and bass. Students learn how to hold, play, and read music throughout the year and give a district-wide 6th grade concert in April. They are encouraged to continue playing into 7th grade.
Band- In 6th grade students are able to join band. Teachers show and demonstrate various instruments early in the Fall and have an instrument display night where parents can come to purchase an instrument for their child. Some instruments are available through the district while others are not. Students learn how to hold, play, and read music throughout the year and give a district-wide 6th grade concert. They are encouraged to continue playing into 7th grade.
Youth Choir- In August students in grades 4-8 can audition to participate and the program runs from September thru April. Rehearsals will take place on Wednesday's from 5:45-6:00 at the High School choir room. Students will have two performances in December and April and will participate in the district-wide choral concert in March. Open to all grade schools in the district as well as the middle school. The purpose of this program is to allow our students experiences that will increase their musical knowledge, appreciation for the arts, and help prepare them for the vocal music opportunities at the middle school, high school and beyond.
Scholars Bowl - 5th and 6th graders (team tryouts/teacher recommendations. The Scholars Bowl Team competes in at least two meets during the academic calendar year.
