ARRIVAL
7:20 am - Doors open, breakfast is served from 7:20-7:50 am. When students arrive at school, they can eat breakfast or go outside for Walk and Talk on the playground. Walk and Talk is supervised, and all students who arrive before 7:50 participate in Walk and Talk.
Morning Drop Off - If your child can exit the car without assistance, you may use the drop-off lane in front of the school. If you need to assist them in exiting the vehicle, please park in the Dillons parking lot and use the crosswalk.
8:00 am - School starts at 8:00 am. Students who arrive at 8:01 or later will be counted as tardy. If your child is going to be absent, you must report their absence via the SMHome App or call the school and let the school know. If you do not notify the office, your child will be counted as unexcused.

DISMISSAL
3:25 pm - All students dismiss at 3:25 pm.
Dismissal Protocol - Please Park in the Dillons parking lot and wait for your child on the sidewalk across from the school. The teachers will walk with their class to their designated location. The students then check out with their teacher when they have visibly located their ride.
***Please notify the office if someone else will be picking up your child.
COMMUNICATION
SeeSaw and SchoolMessenger - Classroom teachers will communicate via SeeSaw. Classroom teachers will send out more information. SchoolMessenger is the building and district communication tool. To learn more and access SchoolMessenger, please go to USD 428 Website.

TRAFFIC PROCEDURES
USD 428 and the Great Bend Police Department would like to inform you of safety procedures to be used when dropping off or picking up students from Park Elementary.
Drivers can use the parking stalls in front of the school.
Drivers can use the Dillons parking lot across the street.
Drivers are not permitted to pull up and stop in front of the school for pick up/drop off.
In accordance with Kansas Standard Traffic Ordinances, students need to be using crosswalks to get across the street. At all arrival and dismissal times a crossing guard will be available.
All other traffic ordinances will be enforced by law enforcement including: speeding (the speed limit is 20 miles per hour from 7:30am to 8:00am and 3:00pm to 3:30pm), U-turns, failure to use signals, illegal stopping, illegal parking, impeding traffic, jaywalking, etc.
Traffic tends to be congested during arrival and dismissal times. In order to ensure the safety of our students, please be aware of your surroundings!
