ECKSEC Future Special Educator Scholarship
All application materials are due to the student’s High School Counselor/Scholarship Coordinator by Friday, January 30th, 2026. Application materials must be received by the High School Counselor by this date, regardless of the district’s school calendar, inclement weather days, and any other unforeseen circumstances.
KSDE-AEOP 2026 Margaret Van Horn Scholarship
The scholarship program is open to current Kansas High School, College, and/or Technical School students. Applicant must intend to continue his/her education in an education or business-related program. Applicant must be enrolled in a minimum of nine semester hours (at least half-time). Enrollment must be in an accredited post-secondary educational facility within the state of Kansas.
Applications must be complete, signed, and submitted by email in pdf format or postmarked by Friday, January 9, 2026, to be accepted.

SCHOLARSHIPS AND GRANTS
You can apply for State of Kansas Student Aid in one of two ways:
1. Complete the online form to apply for the following semesters - Fall 2023 and Spring 2024 semesters
OR
2. Print, complete, and mail the State of Kansas Student Aid Application.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Graduating high school senior who plans to enroll full-time in the fall.
Must have a cumulative, unweighted high school GPA of 3.0 or above.
Must have taken the ACT or SAT and submit the score to apply.
Must be a Kansas resident and qualify for in-state tuition.
Demonstrate financial need (Pell-eligible).
Will attend either Emporia State, Fort Hays State, Kansas State, or Wichita State Universities.
Must be a U.S. Citizen or a permanent resident.

Heads-up: Don’t wait to get started on your application. You will need to submit two essays, your ACT/SAT score, and two recommenders.
The Hagan Scholarship is a nationwide need-based merit scholarship designed to help rural students graduate college debt-free. The scholarship provides up to $48,000 over four years to attend college and other benefits. Recipients must graduate from one of over 6,300 eligible public high schools. Hagan Scholars from 43 states currently attend 4 4,482 colleges and universities. The award of a Hagan Scholarship has been life-changing for many recipients. Over six hundred more scholarships can be awarded in April 2024.
