step 1

• go to our shared GDrive folder

• create a Google Doc called

• WorksCited_Challenger_lastname

step 2

• for each source, get out the source information card where we wrote the editor, the title of article, source, publishing info, page numbers

• circle the first word on each card

• put them in ABC order

• put in ABC order by 

  • • A Major
    • Burrows
    • Garner

step 3

• start typing what is on the card

• do not hit enter until the end of the card

• type the next card

• type the third card

• beware that if you hit enter in the wrong places, this will be all messed up, and you'll need to start all over

step 4

• right now, everything is still single-space

• double-check your cap use, italics, punctuation, spelling, etc.

• here are the written directions

  • move cursor in front of the first word you typed

  • hit enter

  • move cursor up to the blank line

  • type Works Cited

  • then move your cursor in front of the phrase and hit enter

  • move cursor up to the blank line

  • type your last name & left align it

  • center Works Cited phrase

  • click control-A and double space the entire page

• go to the one-minute mark in that video

• here are the written directions

  • first, know how to read a ruler

  • if ruler isn't showing-up, click VIEW on the pull-down menu & choose Show Ruler

  • select just the source information (not WC or your name)

    • • move triangle to the 1/2 - inch mark (this is the LEFT of 1-inch)

      • text should remain selected

      • then move the rectangular shape that was above the little triangle back (left) to the left margin of your paper

  • click so nothing is selected now

  • your page should be formatted correctly now

  • go view the video again if needed to see if your page is formatted correctly; if not, start over & fix it
