What is respect?
Respect is the willingness and ability to act professionally and thoughtfully with ourselves and others. Leaders can deal respectfully with opposition and provide space for both dignity and differences to coexist.
Students who successfully demonstrate respect may exhibit the following behaviors:
• Makes others feel safe, supported, and engaged
• Can see situations from other peoples’ perspectives
• Is intentionally mindful of classmates, teachers, and other leaders
• Follows directions the first time
• Is helpful without being asked (picks up trash; holds doors open for others, etc.)
