Meet Your 

Hi! I am Mrs. Tabitha and I'm excited to be supporting families during the first 5 years of their parenting journey! This will be my 7th year as a Parents as Teachers family educator. Previously, I served the Salina area and am look forward to serving my own community here in North Ottawa County.

I was born and raised in Wichita. I currently live in Minneapolis with my husband of 9 years, my two children, and our two dogs. We love small town Kansas and value the community it offers. 

Professionally, I have taken on many roles within the Early Childhood Education field. I have worked in all settings including childcare, preschool, elementary education, and home visiting. Parents as Teachers has become my home because I believe the first 5 years of a child's life should be spent playing and connecting with the people most important to them FAMILY. 

Home Visits: What to Expect 

My promise to you! When you welcome me into your home you can expect me to listen and follow your lead. This program is less about guiding parents and more about supporting them. My goal is to get to know each and every family; learn what you want your parenting journey to look like and providing support on that journey. Home visits will be a collaboration between you the parents and me the educator. Only you know what is best for your family! 

Facts of Life

Yes, I am a mother. Yes, I am an educator and have spent countless hours studying all aspects of the first 5 years of life (we will just call this passion not obsession). No, I do not know everything. No, I am not a perfect parent. No, my kids are not perfect angels. Yes, I made many mistakes in the first 5 years of my own parenting journey and I'm happy to tell you all about them!

Kids do not come with Instructions

Home visits are a safe space to get all your questions answered! There are no stupid questions. We all want what is best for our children and we want to treasure the first 5 years. They are only little for a short time. After the first 5 years, you will be left feeling like it went by so quickly. However, during the first 5 years there will be times when you feel defeated, overwhelmed, and like you have no idea what you are doing.

The beauty of this home visiting program is EVERYONE qualifies! It doesn't matter if you just had your first child or your fifth child. You immunize or you choose not too. You plan to homeschool or you know your child will go to public school. You do not have to be low income, in need of financial assistance, or at risk. YOU ALL QUALIFY!

It would be my pleasure to support you in the first 5 years of your parenting journey. We will celebrate the wins and overcome the challenges along the way. You are the only person for the job, you are what they need the most!
