Children learn the most from The ones that raise them!
Parents as Teachers has been a long standing early childhood home visiting program in Kansas for decades. Here at PAT of North Ottawa County Schools we value parents! It is our mission to support parents, the bedrock of each and every family!
OUr Vision
All children will develop, learn and grow to realize their full potential.
Our Mission
To promote the optimal early development, learning and health of children by supporting and engaging their families and caregivers.
Our Values
1) The early years of a child’s life are critical for optimal development and provide the foundation for success in school and in life.
2) Parents and caregivers are their children’s first and most influential teachers.
3) Established and emerging research is the foundation for caregiver and family support curricula, training, materials and services.
4) All young children and their families deserve the same opportunities to succeed, regardless of any demographic, geographic or economic considerations.
5) An understanding and appreciation of the history and traditions of diverse cultures is essential in serving families.
Why Parents as Teachers?
The program is FREE for all families living in USD 239.
The program is designed to let kids be kids with child- lead learning through play.
Kids do not come with instructions, PAT provides parents with helpful development information.
Parents as Teachers will support you in your parenting journey by following your lead, while providing you with tools, support, encouragement and community along the way.
What does Parents as teachers look like?
