Originally I hail from the Central Valley of California. That means that contrary to what some believe, I did not grow up amid sun-soaked beaches, but rather smack in the middle of California's agricultural hub. Yep, I grew up surrounded by farmlands, orchards, and dairies.
I did eventually find my beach on the redwood coast when I attended college at Humboldt State University where I pursued a Bachelor of Science in Zoology. Science has always fascinated me and I am a self-professed science/science fiction geek.
I taught for 13 years as a substitute teacher both in California and Kansas. I have long term taught various long-term assignments ranging from kindergarten to chemistry and biology. I am really excited to begin my 5th year teaching at Linn while continuing to get to know all of my wonderful students.
I am a mom to two busy kiddos that drive me crazy, but I wouldn't change them for the world. My kiddos keep me hopping, but in any downtime I have, I like to read, listen to music, travel, and enjoy exploring the outdoors.
