Meet the Teacher

A little bit about me:

Hi! I'm Mrs. Booth, this is my fourth year as a third grade teacher at Remington Elementary School. I am excited to get the year started at RES, meeting students and parents. In May 2017, I graduated from Bethel College in North Newton, Kansas, with a bachelors degree in elementary education and an endorsement in PreK through 12 special education. Recently, I completed my master's degree in Curriculum, Instruction, and Leadership, and am excited to use this new knowledge in the classroom.

Kansas has not always been my home. I grew up on a farm, in a small, Mennonite town in Nebraska that is very similar to Whitewater. I made my way to Kansas for college where I met my husband, and we decided to settle down here. We are excited to welcome our first child in March, 2021.

Last year was amazing at RES. I had a wonderful time getting to know students and their parents!

My favorites:

A few of my favorite things include, my husband, Josh, our dogs, Ivy and Ruby, family, friends, Diet Dr. Pepper, dachshunds, drawing, ice cream, Mojos, Nebraska football, and Chipotle.

How I spent my summer:

Before the last 3 years, I spent the last 8 summers being a lifeguard. I taught lessons and worked at the small pool in the town I grew up in. This is where I got my passion for teaching kids. This past summer, I decided to really focus on my master's degree and took 15 credit hours. This kept me very busy. When I wasn't doing homework, I was spending time at home with my dogs, Ivy and Ruby, and making trips to Nebraska to see my family. My dogs and I spent a lot of time going on walks with my sister, niece, and nephew who live close by. I really enjoyed the time off this summer, but am ready to get back to school and start another school year!
