A podcast is the modern day equivalent of talk radio. There are many different genres of podcasts. From mystery and suspense to sports talk to comedy to political rants to self-help and relationship advice, these days it seems that everyone who is anyone has their own podcast. I couldn't call myself a true technology teacher if I didn't create a podcast myself. Over the course of this semester I have really enjoyed recording some example podcasts.
Check out all of the episodes I have released thus far :)
My podcast is all about me and the things I enjoy doing and why I like to do them.
All of my podcasts are created using the microphones, computers, and other equipment that my students use in my Creative Media classes at Urbana Middle School.
My most recent podcast episode was created using the Anchor app on my phone. Click HERE to see that episode on my Anchor webpage.
In this first episode I describe the sport of Disc Golf, how I got into it, why I like to play, and why I enjoy playing disc golf more than regular golf.
In this episode of the podcast, I chat with my colleague from work, fellow disc golfer, and dear friend, Mr. Pound. Together we discuss how we both caught the disc golfing bug and why we recommend other people should try this amazing sport.
In this episode I reflect on my favorite sport, Ultimate Frisbee. I describe how to play the game, my own experiences learning to play the game in college and later into my adult life, and my recent involvement with CURL (The Champaign-Urbana Ultimate Recreational League) since moving to Urbana.
In this episode I explain what surfing is, describe a few different varieties of surfing, and explain why I enjoy surfing.
