The Teen Science Café is an informal, science-based event held in Pierre at the SD Discovery Center.
The Teen Science Café Network hosts free, fun, out-of-school events where teens get to socialize over food and refreshments and have the opportunity to talk with local scientists and engineers about current cutting-edge ideas in science and technology, all in a relaxed and informal (out-of-school) setting. Teen Science Cafés are for teens, by teens, with a core group of 8 Teen Leaders, that organize the café themselves, following a format of food, icebreakers, and hands-on activities by an invited speaker. CBBRe was pleased to be invited to attend, and graduate student volunteers joined in to present information about EEG, and demonstrate some of the cutting edge research that we do at USD.
