Engineering and Robotics Projects
We programmed the robot by uploading custom code that allowed it to detect obstacles using its sensors and make decisions in real time. As it traveled through the course, the robot identified blocked pathways, changed direction when necessary, and searched for the most efficient route to reach the exit. Through this project, we learned the fundamentals of robot programming, sensor integration, autonomous navigation, and problem-solving while testing and improving the robot's performance through multiple design iterations.
A robot designed to simulate safely exiting a damaged building while navigating a predetermined course. We programmed the robot by uploading custom code that allowed it to detect obstacles using its sensors and make decisions in real time. As it traveled through the course, the robot identified blocked pathways, changed direction when necessary, and searched for the most efficient route to reach the exit.
A robot programmed to detect and follow a line using line-following technology while avoiding obstacles with a touch sensor. Built on an Arduino RedBoard, the robot was programmed with custom code to process sensor inputs and control its movement. Our robot didn't really work because of faulty hardware including underpowered motor and faulty antenna, so we borrowed another group's robot and implemented our code into it, and it worked out .
AI based humanoid robot used to locate and identify victims in a damaged building. The biggest issues were connectivity and tracking software difficulties. Through much trial and error it worked fairly well and was able to indentify victims inside an environment.
Autonomously creates a simple polymer (GAK) given the raw ingredients. We used a simple stacked motor design to automate the process and an advanced l shaped mixer with a dowel to efficiently mix glue. We placed cups in a tower formation to allow gravity do the work of moving the materials around when the cups were tipped. The final cup finished the substance by mixing everything together.

Our Lumi Bot is traversing through courses, The robot detects objects in its path, adjusts its direction, and makes decisions to safely avoid collisions while continuing toward its destination.
We built and programmed the robot to control a mixing mechanism that combined the ingredients evenly while demonstrating precise motor control and automation.
Our Arduino line-following robot was programmed to detect and follow a black line using infrared line-tracking sensors. The Arduino continuously reads data from the sensors and adjusts the motors to keep the robot centered on the path. This project demonstrated how sensors, programming, and motor control work together to create an autonomous robot capable of navigating a course without human control.
Our humanoid robot was designed to navigate through an obstacle course that simulated a damaged building after a disaster. Using sensors and programmed movement, the robot avoided obstacles while searching the environment for victims. Once a victim was identified, the robot recorded or signaled its location, demonstrating how robotics can assist in search-and-rescue missions by improving safety and efficiency in hazardous environments.
