Acknowledging grant support is both a common academic practice and an NSF requirement—it helps recognize the broader community and resources that make our work possible. For any presentations, papers, posters, or other products related—directly or indirectly—to ORAI, please include the NSF acknowledgment and disclaimer below. This applies whether the work was fully or partially, directly or indirectly supported by the ORAI NRT grant (for example, if it involves ORAI trainees or faculty, was inspired by the ORAI classes or events, or involved a collaboration fostered by the ORAI program). Including these statements is simple and ensures proper credit to our funders:
NSF acknowledgement: “This material is based upon work supported by the National Science Foundation under Award No. 2346058 titled NRT-AI: Integrating Artificial Intelligence and Operations Research Technologies.”
Disclaimer: “Any opinions, findings, and conclusions or recommendations expressed in this material are those of the author(s) and do not necessarily reflect the views of the National Science Foundation.”
As appropriate, add any additional funders to the acknowledgement, and, if in doubt, include both the acknowledgement and disclaimer.
For official guidance on acknowledging NSF, see PAPPG, Chap11.E.4 and https://www.nsf.gov/policies/brand#how-to-acknowledge-your-nsf-award-01e.
Do not hesitate to reach out to phebe.vayanos@usc.edu or avinacyn@usc.edu if you have any questions.
Whenever you acknowledge our grant in one of your presentations, papers, posters, or other products, kindly email the corresponding information and materials to phebe.vayanos@usc.edu and avinacyn@usc.edu so that we can add your work to our annual report to the NSF, to the NSF Public Access Repository, and so we can promote it on our social media.
