The USC campus is very contained and walkable, with lots of wide sidewalks that are very mobility-aid friendly. A static campus map is to the left, but for an interactive map, please check here. Most sessions will be held in the mathematics building Kaprielian Hall, located on the far west border of campus by the Downey Way pedestrian entrance. Note that the entire perimeter of campus is fenced, so entrance is only possible at a few select gates.
To start, there are ample on-campus restaurant options, with the closest being the RTH dining hall and Seeds Marketplace. A wide selection of restaurants at the USC Village are a bit further away on the north end of campus, but still within quick walking distance. For the closest coffee, see Cafe Annenberg.Â
If off-campus dining is more your speed, Vermont Avenue just off campus has a few options within walking distance, and even more options a 10-minute bus ride or less on the 204 or 754 northbound metro busses. A bus stop is conveniently located just in front of the Downey Way entrance.
And of course, this is LA, well-known for its foodie scene! There are many restaurants all over town if you have a hankering for something specific, and the food trucks are not to be missed.
Free street parking is available in the neighborhoods on the west side of campus, which is likely to be available due to Spring Break. The easiest way to find free street parking near Kaprielian Hall is to turn on W 36th St and circle in the residential streets. For closer parking, there are meters on both sides of Vermont Avenue which are almost always available with a four hour time limit. The meters accept quarters and credit cards. There are also electric vehicle charging spaces on the southbound side of Vermont Avenue just past W 36th St.
For public transit options, USC is served by many LA lines. Your favorite maps app's public transit options are likely to be accurate, but for a more tailored experience all lines can be found on the Transit app. The app includes a to/from feature as well as live updates on when the next bus or metro will arrive. To pay fares, you can use the TAP virtual card or get a physical card at any metro station. The closest metro station to Kaprielian Hall is Vermont/Expo, with the card machines located on the northeast corner of the intersection. All fares are capped at $5 maximum per 24 hours. You can get all over the city with public transportation!
