Rocksim
Our Rocksim simulation involved a multistage rocket and we recorded the height during a number of simulations among other measurements. The engines were more advanced than any that we had access to in current time and place so the simulation had that added benefit of an extra stage. In Rocksim we have the option to change the rocket design and the rockets to change the outcome of the launch. Specifically, we used an Altaira rocket for out simulation and two identical altaira rockets inside of it.
This was our first attempt at launching our rocket. As you can see in the video, the rocket did not reach the maximum height that we had hoped for it to reach. This was due to our launch hole, which was made with tape, and therefore stuck onto the launcher, which resulted in the rocket not getting any height in the launch. We were aware of where the design went wrong and were determined to fix the rocket, to hopefully be successful for the second launch.
This was our second attempt at launching our rocket. We fixed the launch hole by making it with paper this time, which therefore led our attempt to be successful. The maximum height that the rocket reached was much higher, and we believe that the launch was successful, and therefore were happy with our final results.
