Welcome to the Structures & Computational Intelligence (SCI) Lab at UTRGV!
Our group focuses on the intersection of structural engineering and artificial intelligence (AI). Research topics include:
(1) Structural testing, sensing, and data acquisition
(2) Machine learning for infrastructure assessment
(3) Foundation models (LLMs and VLMs) for structural engineering
(4) Remote sensing for infrastructure monitoring
(5) Nuclear infrastructure safety and cyber-physical twins
(6) Novel steel-concrete composite structures and materials
Our research goal is to advance intelligent, resilient, and autonomous infrastructure systems.
