This website will focus on The Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. The basilica can be described as a place that fosters gift giving among people as presented by Marcel Mauss. While there are more political gifts such as the ones from the Vatican City to the United States, there are also those gifts from one people and culture that are given to all of those who visit. This exchanging of culture helps create where the global Catholic community can experience their faith through many lenses.
