The Mechanical Engineering methods we used:
1. We sketched out the robot's basic layout and gathered ideas from members of the team.
2. We experimented with the materials given and tried to choose a layout that benefited us and our bridge design.
3. We used proper designing techniques in engineering our robot (i.e. mathematically calculating where what went and how big each piece was to be).
The Civil Engineering methods we used:
1. We identified the problems we needed to solve and account for.
2. We solved those problems by cutting what we needed to and only kept the basics and made sure to respect all the restrictions given (i.e. cost, materials, etc.).
3. We made sure every aspect of the bridge was mathematically calculated to perfection using ratios and proportions, in order to avoid failure.
The Industrial Engineering methods we used:
1. We looked at the problems presented to us as real-world problems.
2. We worked as a team to make sure every viewpoint was considered in order to ensure no failures.
