GRADING SYSTEM

RATING

1) Attendance - 10%

  • Synchronous Log in and Log out

2) Student Engagement - 20%

  • Recitation/Discussion in Google Classroom

  • FB Posts and Comments

  • Participation in Group Discussion/Exchange (Classroom and FB)

3) Requirements/Project - 20%

  • Reflection Paper

  • Group Work

4) Exam - 50% (Prelim/Midterm/Finals)


COMPUTATION

a) Prelim Grade = 10% Attendance + 20% Student Engagement + 20% Requirements + 50% Prelim Exam

b) Midterm Grade = 10% Attendance + 20% Student Engagement + 20% Requirements + 50% Midterm Exam

c) Finals Grade = 10% Attendance + 20% Student Engagement + 20% Requirements + 50% Final Exam)

d) Final Grade = Prelim Grade + Midterm Grade + Finals Grade = Sum/3 = Average (Final Grade)

Asynchronous Activity - Learning Through Social Media Posts


Objective

1) develop skills in online research of articles and resources relevant to the course

2) use critical thinking in identifying reliable sources of relevant materials/articles

3) develop ability to synthesize information

3) learn to express ideas by communicating/exchanging with your classmates by way of commenting on their posts


Process and Guidelines

1) Nominate an member to serves as admin to the FB page to monitor postings

2) Each member of the group should post at least once a week (4 posts a month/individual)

3) Nature of post - it must be related to the topic/subject (refer to course outline) and your course (BS Psych/BS Nursing), some examples:

  • Nursing and Pandemic/ Nursing and Contemporary World

  • Nursing and Globalization

  • Nursing Stories during the pandemic

  • Nursing and Mental Health

  • Psychology and Mental Health

  • Psychology and Globalization

  • Psychology Practice and Pandemic

  • Psychology current trends and issues

  • Psychology and the contemporary world


4) Read the article / watch video link/ infographics

  • make a quote about the article (important ideas)/reflection/own opinion

  • post your quote and article link

  • tag group members

  • make use of hash tag your FB Posts = #nursingatURS #URSTyPsych

  • encourage group members to make a sensible comment


5) Facebook Page Postings


6) Grading - Submit the link to document your posts - submit during term exams (prelim/mid/finals). This will be part of student engagement grade (20%) both on FB and Google Class Discussion. When submitting (google classwork):

  • create a document/word file - paste your FB links/posts

  • consolidate all screen shot of your posts or provide as an attachment with your link submission
