Civilian-Military Working Group Seed Grants – Request for Proposals 2020
We are excited to announce that seed grants may be made available to working groups affiliated with the 2020 Brown-NWC Civilian-Military Humanitarian Response Workshop. Working Groups that are interested in pursuing research or the development of curriculum, exercises, and other learning materials are encouraged to apply for funding. Each Working Group will be allowed to submit up to two proposals for funding consideration. In addition to funding support, the Center for Human Rights and Humanitarian Studies at Brown University and the Humanitarian Response Program and the U.S Naval War College will provide guidance over the life of the project and may be able to facilitate research assistant support.
Funding Amount: Between $1,000 and $5,000
Duration: 1 year from date of received funding
Application Requirements
1. Letter of Intent – Deadline: September 14, 2020 a. Please submit a Letter of Intent (LOI) detailing your intent to submit a proposal and a brief overview of the intended proposal topic. Please submit your LOI to CHRHS Program Manager, Seth Stulen (seth_stulen@brown.edu).
2. Full Application – Deadline: October 2, 2020 a. Name, affiliation, & contact info for project lead and co-leads
b. Summary of proposed project (no more than 300 words)
c. Total amount requested
d. Full description of proposed project (i.e. rationale, scope, goals and objectives, methodology, collaborations, expected outcomes, ethical considerations)
e. Detailed budget (please include other sources of received or anticipated funding)
f. Timeline
g. CVs/Resumes of project lead and co-leads
h. Please submit your full application in a single .pdf document to CHRHS Program Manager, Seth Stulen (seth_stulen@brown.edu).
