We actively look for opportunities to both gain understanding

for ourselves and to teach others what we have learned.

Practices and behaviors that we strive toward:

- Create opportunities for staff to share their expertise with each other.

- Ensure that learning opportunities are accessible to all.

- Incite awe and wonder.

- Offer learning in different formats: outside, inside, in-person, virtual, with the aid of apps, online, social media, through signage and through our publications.

- Seek external professional development opportunities that are specific to departments and continue to learn from organizations doing similar work.

- Encourage curiosity by wondering, asking questions and looking for the answers. It’s ok to not know.

- Review scientific and internal data to inform our decisions. (e.g. feedback from members, staff, board members, community members, partners and consultants)
