Care for Nature

We have a respect for the cultural histories of the land we occupy, and recognize the importance of restorative ecological practices at home, in our neighborhoods and in public spaces.

Practices and behaviors that we strive toward:

- Acknowledge the people and cultures that have inhabited the land we now work on.

- Improve ecological habitat in the natural spaces we occupy.

- Study the wildlife living in our parks to monitor our restoration efforts.

- Provide resources that encourage people to utilize native Wisconsin species for habitat and ecological benefit in their home natural spaces.

- Choose behaviors that represent sustainable choices.

- Help others build ownership for green spaces in the hope that a personal connection inspires stewardship.

- Model land stewardship behavior for the public and for other organizations.

- Highlight the benefits of nature and being outside to make nature more inviting.
