Frequently Asked Questions

Are parents able to chaperone the trip?

The trip will be chaperoned by staff at Urbandale Middle School, specifically 1 staff member for every 12-15 students. Parents are welcome to go along on the trip, but will have no chaperoning responsibilities. Parents are able to register to go on the trip the same way students register.

Is there a limit to the number of participants that can register to go on the trip?

The trip will be considered full when a third charter bus fills up, which has happened now that 140 paying participants are signed up.

Are grandparents or other family members other than parents allowed to go on the trip?

With the increasing numbers of students wanting and able to go on the trip, we limit this trip to students and parents.

When will 7th grade students be able to start registering for the June 2020 trip?

Registration for the June 2020 trip for 7th grade students started in August and will end when the 100 available spots are filled. There will be a waiting list available.

Are students required to maintain a certain G.P.A. to be able to go on the trip?

There are no G.P.A. requirements. However, student behavior and attendance is monitored throughout their 6th and 7th grade school year and used as a determining factor in trip participation.
