Students are gaining more hands on exposure to using the engineering design process and applying computational thinking. They are given challenges to think creatively and "outside the box" to solve various problems. They are learning that the design process is not linear, but that most steps need to be revisited to be mastered.
Students in grades K through 8 are learning to code, not only online, but with robots. Please welcome Code-a-Pillars, Code 'n Go Mouse, Sphero, Sphero Indy, Dash, Dot & Cue to our technology curriculum! Our students have quickly fallen in love with them!
Seventh and Eighth graders let their imaginations soar when they design a product for one of our Extraordinaires! Students choose a character and are then given challenge cards to design a product for their character. The more "out of the box", the better! Using craft and recycling products, they create a prototype of their invention!
