Students at CJHS and CHS do not need to be identified as highly capable to take advantage of our most accelerated learning opportunities.

Between 8th-12th grade the opportunities for accelerated courses become more numerous and diverse. It is the district's goal to provide multiple opportunities for acceleration for students identified as highly capable. In many cased, students identified as highly capable will be enrolled alongside high performing students who may not be identified as highly capable or who may be from different grades.

At all times, we will counsel highly capable students to take advantage of accelerated opportunities as they are capable. In some cases, accelerated courses require either an existing skill set or students to have taken a prerequisite class.
