If your kindergarten through third grade student is reading a year or more below level, you were notified by a teacher or administrator at your child's school that they have an Individualized Reading Improvement Plan, also known as an IRIP. The UPrep IRIP form was carefully designed to help you understand your scholar's literacy strengths and areas for growth. Below are some resources to help help answer questions you may have about your child's IRIP as well as the state law that mandates this documentation.
Families of third grade students who score below a 1,252 on the 2020 MSTEP will receive a notification from Center for Educational Performance and Information (CEPI) and UPrep Schools that their child is being recommended for retention. Completing and submitting the Good Cause Exemption form is the first step in the process that considers the identified student's individual needs and whether he/she should be promoted to the fourth grade.

"Read by Grade Three" has left many parents with questions about whether or not their child will be able to move on to the fourth grade when the time comes.
