Overall, I believe this project has in a way comforted something in me. Thanks to the various interviews and surveys I conducted, I am reassured that the Latinx community is here, and prevalent. The Hispanic journalists take pride in their culture, and they believe that by continuing to utilize the pronunciations or speak in their Spanish language they can continue to be connected to their culture while communicating the necessary messages to the public, to their community. However, there is still much to be done here in Arizona, and all over the U.S. regarding discrimination and the standardized language ideologies. As many of my interviewees stated, us Hispanics need to acquire more higher up positions in the journalism field to ensure cultural appreciation and appropriateness. Finally, I just want to finish by saying that all Hispanics matter. Whether it’s Hispanics residing in Hispanic countries, or Hispanics residing in the U.S. - we all matter, and our stories deserve to be heard.
