Kariluz Dávila is an Associate Professor at the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras, specializing in Chemistry Education. She holds a BS and Ph.D. from UPR and has developed digital instructional materials and researched learning strategies, student retention, and the role of math skills in chemistry success. Dr. Dávila has held several leadership and mentoring roles, including as coordinator for the Pre-MARC Program and Associate Director of the NASA Puerto Rico Space Grant Consortium. Her work focuses on supporting first-year students, promoting active learning, and ensuring inclusivity through Universal Design for Learning. She has also led outreach programs such as summer workshops and “Fun Chemistry” events for students and teachers across Puerto Rico.
