WELCOME!
This is the website that focuses on Technology for Future Learning Ecosystem based on a project funded by the Ministry of Higher Education, Malaysia on how Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things and Learning Analytics can support learning at Higher Learning Institutions. The project is funded through a research grant entitled "Enhancing Education for Human Capital Development through Establishing Future Learning Ecosystem" comprising of three subprojects:
Pedagogy for the Future Learning (led by researchers from Faculty of Educational Studies, Universiti Putra Malaysia).
Architecture for Future Learning (led by researchers from Faculty of Architecture and Design, Universiti Putra Malaysia).
Technology for Future Learning (led by researchers at the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology, Universiti Putra Malaysia).
This research focuses on three key technologies (IOT, learning analytics and chatbot) as the pillars of the Future Learning Ecosystem. This technological ecosystem is fundamental for supporting flexible curriculum which allows personalized, organic and self-constructed learning:
Internet of Things (IOT) allows the immersive and ubiquitous learning to capture the learning activities;
AI empowers analytics modeling of the learning behavior to support instructor to optimize personalized instruction whilst maximize learning effectiveness and satisfaction; and
through AI based chatbot as digital tutor to complement student’s choice of teaching instructor.
We have published a playbook that presents the current learning advancements and future technologies that can support smart personalized learning. It lines up concepts, examples and guidelines for the planning, development and implementation of future learning technology ecosystems. Existing works, services and applications are promoted while highlighting opportunities for improvement. Emphasis is given to assistive learning approaches that celebrate multi-intelligence, talent variations and diversified learner needs that empower humanized smart digital learning experiences beyond the classroom on-demand, anytime and anywhere. These principles are rooted based on the beliefs that a commitment for lifelong learning is a valuable asset for oneself and that technology is an important vehicle to ensure someone successfully travels along the route to wisdom.

We emphasize on personalized learning as the approach of learning implementation in the future. This requires a suitable and informative learning analytics dashboard that allows the instructors and the system to be able to:
Understand the needs of the learners
Understand the preferences of the learners
Build, or get a recommended teaching plan/intervention to personalize the teaching
Interact with the learner implement the teaching plan/intervention and personalize the teaching
Always monitor and adapt to optimize learners’ achievements, engagement and satisfaction
