In this action, I emailed Tulare County Animal Services asking a couple of questions about euthanization such as what are the reasons for euthanization, what are the last possible options, and which animals are chosen to be euthanized? Unfortunately, they did not respond back. Furthermore, I called Valley Oak SPCA to ask these questions, and the first time I tried calling they said they were busy and to call back later. Thus, I called later and a lovely lady was patient enough to answer my questions with thorough detail. She explained that animals with behavioral issues that cause harm to other animals and humans will be euthanized. She also mentioned that animals with medical problems will be euthanized to be released from their pain. Before euthanizing, Valley Oak SPCA works with a rescue center that takes the animals from them since space is limited, they also encourage people to adopt animals. Through this action, I gained multiple skills like finding a way to reach out to other citizens and writing a formal email.
Call: First Attempt
The photo illustrates the time I called and how long the call was.
Call: Second Attempt
This call was longer because the woman on the line was answering my questions.
Here is my email which provides all the questions I asked.
This is a confirmation that my email went through.
