The Generative AI Taskforce (GAIT) is a working group that will examine the benefits, risks and opportunities associated with generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) in teaching and learning at UPEI. The working group will provide guidance to the University community and advise the Office of the VPAR on the use of generative AI tools.
Recommend guidelines for instructors and learners on the use of generative AI tools in courses, such as through course syllabus statements, with course assessment, or promoting academic integrity.
Provide guidance on effective use of generative AI in teaching and learning.
Identify support services for instructors in their adoption of generative AI in courses.
Provide clarity on the capabilities, risks, and developments in generative AI tools.
Define important competencies and learning outcomes that prepare students for a future workplace that is increasingly influenced by AI.
Identify copyright, intellectual property and other issues of generative AI in teaching and learning.
