While staying in Burgos, our students shared dorm rooms in UBU's San Agustin Residence. This residence was located in the heart of the downtown centre. We were about a five minute walk from the famous Burgos Cathedral and only about a three minute walk from a grocery store. This location was perfect for students. We walked about 25 minutes every morning to the UBU campus, which was a great way to prepare for our journey on the Camino.
Here are some of the amenities that we loved at our residence:
When not in Burgos, we stayed in a few different pilgrim hostels. The first hostel we stayed in was in Sarria, Spain. This accommodation was wonderful. The entire facility was gorgeous and in a great location for beginning our trek on the Camino. The best part about staying at Hostal Las Casona de Sarria was that the owner of the establishment, Marcella, was an absolute joy. She cooked a traditional Galician meal and told us all about what will come during our time on St. James Way.
In Santiago, we stayed in the Alburgue Seminario Menor de Belvis. This was a converted seminary that was used to house pilgrims at the end of their journey to Santiago. This was a beautiful facility and allowed us to all have private rooms for the first time on our trip.
