• the crisis at the U.S. southern border: for asylum seekers (especially children) in detention camps, those tasked with their care, the volunteers who are trying to help, and our lawmakers to better manage and address the situation
• for refugees & immigrants across the world, especially the families of the 39 Vietnamese immigrants found dead in a truck in Britain
• for soldiers & their families: even in peacetime, soldiers are deployed into dangerous situations
• for an end to mass shootings and gun violence
• for people facing the challenges of returning to the community after incarceration
• for all oppressors, that their eyes may be opened, that their hearts be changed, that they find their own true, deepest longings for life; we pray for them and plead for their conversion
• for LGBTQIA+ persons who come out and are faced with unsupportive family or friends
• for our Community Meal, as we grapple with tough decisions about its future
• for young families struggling to balance their time and energy between caring for young kids and advocacy for important causes
• for a stop to police brutality and a changing of hearts within the law enforcement community
