RESEARCH FOCUS
Natural Products and Organic Chemistry. Current research in the TNPL falls on the Discovery and Development of Herbal Products (DDHP) research program as part of the Tuklas Lunas® program of DOST-PCHRD: isolation of potential antiinflammatory/antipain agents and isolation of compounds active against breast, lung, and colorectal cancer cell lines. Other interests include enzyme inhibition assays (e.g., cholinesterases, alpha-glucosidase, and alpha-amylase) and mutagenicity studies.
