Heavy is the camera that holds the responsibility of capturing memories to be stored for future reminiscence. I, neither happy nor proud of the present destined to be remembered through photographs, have avoided cameras for the longest time. They feel far too heavy, both physically and mentally. The idea of carrying it around seemed too intimidating, too much of a responsibility. And so I thought—pretentiously and stupidly—why save digital copies of Beauty when it was far easier to witness and experience it in its entirety?
Years' worth of memories now long gone, vanished in transience. With an ache in my chest, I now yearn for the uncaptured moments of Beauty—searching for it everywhere I go, fingers reaching out to the nearest camera so I can tell my future self all about it.
