UP Diliman

University of the Philippines Diliman (UP Diliman or UPD) is the flagship campus of the University of the Philippines (UP) System, the national university of the Philippines. Out of the eight constituent units of the UP System, UP Diliman is the largest in terms of programs, student population, faculty, and library resources.

The Institute of Mathematics (I-Math or IM) is the leading institution for mathematics research and education in the Philippines. I-Math is the largest institute in the UP System, with around 100 full-time faculty. I-Math is home to around 300 undergraduate students and 200 graduate students. In addition, I-Math also serves around 5000 students from other units in UP Diliman. I-Math has two buildings: the older one (commonly referred to as `MB' or `Math Building') and an annex building (commonly referred to as `MBAN').

The main mode of transportation on campus is the UP IKOT jeepney (see included photo). It is a jeepney vehicle with yellow hood and the name `UP IKOT’ or `IKOT' is indicated at the front. Fare is 13 Philippine pesos (~$ 0.25).

University Hotel to Math Building: It will be around 30 minutes of walking. Alternatively, one may ride the UP IKOT. From the University Hotel, go to Laurel Ave. (Laurel St.) and ride UP IKOT jeepney. Get off at Velasquez St. Nearby landmarks are the National Institute of Geological Sciences (NIGS) and the College of Science Library (CS Lib). Then walk to the Math Building.
NISMED Hostel to Math Building: In this case, it is faster to just walk towards the Math Building than to take the UP IKOT jeepney. It will be around 10 minutes of walking. However, if one insists to take the UP IKOT, ride UP IKOT jeepney at the corner of Quirino Ave. (Quirino St.) and Velasquez St. Get off at Velasquez St. Nearby landmarks are the National Institute of Geological Sciences (NIGS) and the College of Science Library (CS Lib). Then walk to the Math Building.
