Device: Nikon dx af-s nikkor 18-55mm
For three of the themes (Height, Flower, Motion), I used a default of 3200 ISO Speed and a default of 5.6 F-stop/Aperture. This helped me achieve a nice light exposure without it being too bright, however I may have overlooked the Aperture for the Motion theme as the light exposure seems a bit too bright.
As for the Pattern theme, I used an ISO Speed of 800 and an Aperture of f/5. There seems to be a mistake in the settings here as the light did not penetrate properly which made the raw image look dark thus requiring some post processing. I tried looking back at the shots I took in the playback and it looked normal until I transferred the photo and took another look at it in my laptop.
As for the Night theme, I used an ISO Speed of 800 and an Aperture of f/3.8. I lowered the Aperture more compared to the other themes, to let more light in as it is hard to let light in during night time but even with that setting, I still had to turn the flash on just to capture my subject or else it will be pitch black.
EXIF DATA
Description: This theme was particularly hard for me, not on how to take a picture but more on what to take a picture of. At first, I took two pictures of what I saw as “height” themed, which is a picture of a lamp post and then a picture of a metal tower. In the end, I decided on the tall metal tower because it looked taller and portrayed height better than the lamp post. Furthermore, the background elements included in the photo help make the tower look taller compared to when the elements are cropped out of the photo.

Description: Just like the height theme, I also had two options for this theme. I saw some patterns on the front gate of a house and then a pattern on some walls. I decided to go with the Casa Marcosa walls as it has more life to them than the front gate.
When I look at it, it reminds me that behind those patterned walls is someone’s family heritage/building. However, I understand that it would not look that way if the signage had been removed. I also did some post processing adjustments (crop, brightness, and contrast) to help viewers see the image details more clearly as the original shot was unexpectedly dark.

Description: The night theme is also one of the hardest shots I did during this assignment and it is because I cannot see my subject since the viewer is too dark, I had to take multiple pictures in order to get a decent shot.
I decided on a motorcycle as my main subject because it reminded me of racing games like Forza Horizon.

EXIF DATA
Description: Out of the three flowers I chose to take a picture of, I decided to keep a red orange flower as it reminds me of a refreshing kind of summer with some beach vibes. Looking back on the photo I took, it reminds me of how pretty summer can be despite the heat.

EXIF DATA
Description: At first I wanted to try and take a picture of a moving vehicle but I noticed that it was harder to take a good picture of a moving vehicle than a moving person. Given this, to properly compare the two subjects, I also tried the theme of a moving person. I asked my brother to do a “Smash” move in badminton. In the end, I went with the person instead as it portrays motion better.
Furthermore, I decided to do some post processing (crop) to my photo as the subject was a bit too far too far and not centered. The cropped photo helps emphasize the subject.
NOTE: I noticed that the date given in the EXIF data is incorrect (I took all photos on 10/04/2025, however, the data says I took it in 2012) and some of the photos contain an orange text (As seen in the Night theme). I do not know how to fix the date so I assume it’s due to the camera I used (Nikon) and I also do not know how to remove the orange text besides cropping it out and ruining the photo.
