8F Social Hall, UP-PGH Building
Employees of UP Manila and UP-PGH were all on board as they applied for new Philippine passports during the Passport on Wheels Caravan held on April 02, 2025 at the 8th Floor Social Hall, PGH Central Block Building.
The caravan was part of the HRDO Caravan Series: Government Services Access Express, an initiative aimed at making government services more accessible and convenient for UP Manila employees.
People of all ages—from senior citizens, middle-aged and young adults, to toddlers–were accommodated throughout the event. A total of 142 applicants availed of the processing services for new passports, while 69 attendees applied for passport renewals.
“Mabilis at convenient.”
“Buti nalang may ganito.”
These statements were common expressions of satisfaction aired by participants, many of whom were all smiles after completing the submission of their passport requirements.
The success of the event was made possible through the joint efforts of the UP Manila Human Resource Development Office and the Department of Foreign Affairs - Consular Office. Weeks prior to the caravan, the Learning and Development Section of HRDO diligently encoded the participants’ details into the DFA passport application portal to finalize their appointments. On the day of the caravan, the DFA personnel, each carrying hard cases filled with equipment, arrived well-prepared to process the applications efficiently. The collaborative planning between the two offices ensured the smooth execution of the event—an exemplary demonstration of sustainable partnerships for public service.
With the event commencing on a good note, the UP Manila community looks forward to more collaborations with other government agencies under the ongoing HRDO Caravan Series to be of service to UP Manila employees. #
