GSIS CARAVAN
The one-stop services hub was part of the HRDO Caravan Series: Government Services Access Express, a project by the Human Resource Development Office of the University of the Philippines Manila aimed at providing employees with convenient access to government services within the university.
Becoming financially secure goes a long way, starting from having the right agency to secure one’s finances. Government employees, in this regard, are also encouraged to implement personal actions towards these financial goals. Given the need for UP Manila employees to avail of such services with ease, the Human Resource Development Office recognizes such concern; therefore, conducting the GSIS Caravan, in partnership with the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS). This caravan was held on April 21-22, 2026 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, at the 8F Social Hall of the UP-PGH Building. Attendees of this caravan have the opportunity to consult with the GSIS team, apply for loans, assistance with the GSIS Touch app, reconciliations of their contributions, as well as update their GSIS records.
The event began with both walk-in and pre-registered participants double-checking the documents they have at hand in connection with GSIS (e.g., Leave without Payment, Service Record), filling out request forms for updating their record, for the smooth processing of the service they wish to avail during the caravan. Participants have inquired regarding their GSIS loans and accounts, and there were also employees who opted for the reconciliation of their contributions.
For both days, UP Manila and UP-PGH employees took the opportunity for their concerns to be raised and addressed directly by the GSIS team. A number of participants also went to the caravan during the two-day caravan to have their records updated, such as updating their contact numbers, email addresses, as well as home addresses. The caravan also gave way for the introduction of the new GSIS mobile app called “GSIS Touch” wherein members can access their accounts and balances with GSIS.
85 participants came during the first day, while 68 participants for the second day, accommodating participants from UP Manila and UP PGH, availed the consultation, assistance, and reconciliation services offered by GSIS, conducted closer to their workplace with more efficiency and no hassle process.
