The clearest practical purpose for research often becomes the strongest source of motivation when navigating unexpected bureaucratic hurdles near project completion
Today brings a mixture of triumph and frustration as I've reached the incredible milestone of completing all chapters of my paper, yet I'm now facing an unexpected obstacle with inconsistencies in UPOU's thesis formatting requirements that has me questioning which standard to follow.
After escalating this matter to Mr. Gripal, we're both waiting for institutional clarification on what the actual standard format should be, it's somewhat ironic that after months of meticulous research and analysis, I'm now held up by formatting technicalities that feel beyond my control. However, the emotional weight of this day is anchored by a much more meaningful achievement: I finally have my Student Motivation Guide outline (See Attachment M.1) completed (emphasis on the “outline” only), and seeing this practical application of my research take shape feels like the culmination of everything I've worked toward. Using instructional design principles to structure the guide has been incredibly fulfilling, especially as I work on the layout design using Canva, something I'm genuinely passionate about and can approach with creative energy after months of analytical work. My preparation has even extended to studying engagement patterns in the UPOU Student Hub Facebook group, where I've observed that well-designed posts with conversational tones generate the most student interaction, insights that will directly inform how I present the guide to maximize its impact.
Moving forward, I'm energized by securing approval from the UPOU USC (See Attachment M.2.1) moderators to post the Student Motivation Guide in the Facebook group, their enthusiastic support and simple request for respectful language shows they recognize the value this resource could provide to students. The timing (hopefully) aligns with the new academic year approaching, and I'm excited to see how my research findings can translate into real support for incoming and continuing students who will face the same motivational challenges I've been studying. The design phase of the SMG represents the creative culmination of this entire research journey, transforming months of data and analysis into something visually appealing and immediately useful for the UPOU community.
