BA (Economics)
Program Objectives
The BA (Economics) program aims to develop quantitative and qualitative skills that are needed in the conduct of research and policymaking, and a deep understanding of economic phenomena in relation to fisheries, natural resources, disaster risk reduction, regional development, and rural poverty.
Graduates of the program should be able to:
Demonstrate mastery of economic concepts, theories, and principles;
Describe how the economy works in the national and global context;
Analyze socio-economic issues;
Conduct economics research in accordance with ethical standards;
Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills;
Demonstrate effective leadership and teamwork skills;
Promote nationalism through the study and practice of economics;
Promote a multidisciplinary approach to understanding social phenomena; and
Engage in lifelong professional learning and development.
