BS Computer Science
Program Objectives
The BS Computer Science program aims to enable students to gain a thorough knowledge of the core areas in Computer Science, obtain broad knowledge of several specialized areas of Computer Science, and develop competencies that will enable them to successfully engage in activities on software engineering and Computer Science research for lifelong personal development and nation building.
At the end of the four-year program, students should be able to:
Apply Computer Science concepts, principles, and tools to formulate solutions to theoretical and practical problems in computing;
Evaluate applications of information technology in addressing computing problems;
Effectively communicate solutions to computing problems to stakeholders using various media;
Demonstrate the ability to produce results both as a leader and as a member of a group;
Practice their profession with a strong sense of responsibility, ethics, and nationalism;
Use Computer Science to support cultural and natural heritage conservation and national development;
Engage in activities that empower the self and the public with the use of information technology; and
Pursue personal and professional development proactively by keeping abreast of new developments in the field.
