Graduates of the BS Biology program must be able to:
Demonstrate a comprehensive and integrative understanding of biology;
Demonstrate critical and creative thinking in pursuit of knowledge in biology and its allied sciences;
Pursue a multidisciplinary approach in the integration of biological principles with other disciplines;
Utilize various scientific research methods and tools to discover new knowledge and develop/improve processes and products;
Exhibit collaborative leadership in pursuit of academic excellence, research and public service;
Communicate the underlying principles of biology effectively and confidently;
Exhibit the know-how on state of the art technology and research equipment used in the life sciences ;
Apply skills and knowledge in the face of various situations, demonstrating resilience in dealing with change and challenges;
Apply knowledge of biological principles to solve current and emerging issues;
Show a strong sense of nationalism and apply knowledge of biological principles to support local and national development;
Act professionally and ethically in various scientific activities;
Undertake programs that promote the conservation of the environment and biodiversity; and
Pursue new knowledge and methods in the biological sciences and continue to expand upon this knowledge throughout one’s career.
